Pod Bump: knock them off

Pod Bump is a free bumping game for 1 to 4 players that runs right in your browser. Every player steers a round Podepuck on a floating platform, and there is only one rule: stay on it. Charge up, dash into your friends and knock them off the edge. The last Podepuck standing wins the round, and the first player to win 5 rounds takes the match.

It takes ten seconds to learn and much longer to master. Rounds are short, every bump counts, and the platform slowly shrinks, so even the most careful player has to fight in the end. A whole match lasts about 3 minutes.

How to play

Move

Steer with WASD or the arrow keys, the left stick of a game controller, or the joystick on a phone or tablet.

Charge and dash

Hold the action button (Space, Enter, the A button or BUMP on the touch screen) to charge. Let go and your Podepuck squashes for a split second, then dashes the way it is facing. The longer the charge, the harder the dash.

Bump and survive

A Podepuck that gets hit is stunned for a moment and slides away. Hit it near the edge and it falls. Miss, and you might fly off yourself, so aim before you let go.

Tips to win

  • Stay near the middle. The edge is where rounds are lost.
  • Short charges are quick and hard to dodge; save full charges for a rival close to the edge.
  • Dash at a rival from the side while they are busy charging at someone else.
  • With 3 or 4 players, let the others fight, then finish off the winner.

Ways to play

Alone against bots

Pick 1 player and a bot takes the other seat. Perfect for practising your aim.

With friends on one screen

Up to 4 players share one keyboard, plug in game controllers, or lay a phone or tablet flat on the table: every player gets their own touch pad on their side.

With friends online

Create a room, send the code, and play Pod Bump with friends on other phones and computers, even in other countries.

Chaos mode

Turn on Chaos in the room and the Chaos Wheel adds a twist to every round: Ice Floor, Moon Bounce, Slow-mo, Meteor Shower, a giant Beach Ball, Banana Peels, or the Heavy Crown that slows down whoever is winning.

Questions

What is Pod Bump?

Pod Bump is a free party game for 1 to 4 players in your browser. Every player steers a round Podepuck on a floating platform and tries to bump the others off the edge. The last Podepuck standing wins the round, and the first player to win 5 rounds wins the match.

How do I bump other players in Pod Bump?

Hold the action button to charge, then let go: your Podepuck squashes for a split second and dashes in the direction it was facing. A longer charge gives a harder dash. A Podepuck that gets hit is stunned for a moment and slides away, so a well-aimed dash can send it straight off the platform.

Can I play Pod Bump alone?

Yes. Pick 1 player and you play against a bot. It is a good way to learn how far a dash goes before you play your friends.

Can I play Pod Bump with friends online?

Yes. Create a room, send your friends the 6-character code or the invite link, pick Pod Bump in the lobby and press START. Up to 4 players can play, on different phones and computers, or with several players sharing one screen.

What is Chaos mode in Pod Bump?

In a Chaos room, the Chaos Wheel spins before every round and adds one twist: Ice Floor, Moon Bounce, Slow-mo, Meteor Shower, Beach Ball, Banana Peels or Heavy Crown. Pod Bump is the game made for Chaos mode.
